XDefiant, formerly known as Tom Clancy's XDefiant, is a free-to-play first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and published by Ubisoft. XDefiant offers a variety of factions and classes, each with its own weapons and abilities. It takes place in the universe of Ubisoft's most well-known franchises, with maps inspired by Tom Clancy's, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry. Players can choose from different game modes, some of which are available periodically. The equipment of the various mercenaries is customizable, either by leveling up as they play, or by unlocking a battle pass that includes exclusive items.

My contribution

Since I started working at Ubisoft Saguenay, my first project was the game XDefiant, which I worked on from July to December (six months). In this project, I notably:

  • Performed most of the badge audits on Confluence.

  • Fixed several bugs, mainly related to score, challenges, badges, and the user interface (UI).

  • Created several new badges, requiring the addition of new code and data.

  • Developed a new highlight for the Assassin faction.

  • Implemented new score events specific to the Defuse game mode. Unfortunately, although this task was completed, the abrupt end of the project prevented their submission.

  • Completed a refactoring task as well as several data submissions involving modifications to node graphs and juice files.

  • Created a brand new node, used in about two different node graphs (Escort and Hotshot)

As for my performance, I noticed a significant improvement in my efficiency and autonomy towards the end of the project, in December. Overall, I always managed to complete my tasks within the required deadlines, while maintaining a good level of quality.
